Internet Scamming

Scamming has come widespread throughout the world, especially on the internet. A large majority of emails sent throughout the world everyday are spam emails that involve scams or other schemes. Most of these are phishing emails that are sent out to people and the scammers wait for a response from their victims. Most email service providers like Gmail offer spam folders that filter these emails out of your main inbox.
These scams interested me a lot because it gives you an insight into human behavior and how people react to situations that may be too good to be true, for example winning an online lottery or a trip that is a scam and they ask for credit card details and other personal information. This is important because there needs to be a greater awareness about these scams because a large number of people still fall prey to such scams, and worldwide it is costing people millions of dollars every year. The best way to combat such cyber crime is by raising awareness  to individuals that use the internet. This can be very beneficial to fight against cyber crime, knowledgeable individuals will be able to spot cyber criminals and report them to authorities or to websites like www.stop-scammers.com . The advantages of using this method to combat cyber scams is that it creates an atmosphere of awareness and provides for a safer online experience for all internet users.
The problems with internet scams is that they find new ways to trick or extract money from their unsuspecting victims, new methods and new events give scammers an opportunity to phish for new victims, an example of recent scam is people asking for charity for the Boston marathon victims http://www.scamwatch.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/1037495 . My advice is be careful online and be wary of anyone you do not know online they are most likely scammers.
